“Shifting” is an ongoing series of photographs taken by M Varisco focusing on Louisiana’s wetlands, swamps, barrier islands and gulf. While already endangered this land is under siege by the recent catastrophic oil disaster off the Louisiana coast. “Shifting” hopes to engage viewers in dialogue that cultivates a greater appreciation of these lands while addressing what’s at stake as this fragile eco-system is further threatened.
